Lisa’s Monday Session – 7th March

Location: Kitchener Street, west side, St Ives
Goal: Intervals, hills, pushing out

4 weeks in and the Fittrek Femmes are most definitely getting in the groove. We are all appreciating these stunning bush locations on our doorstep. I  love that every Fittrek session is such a different  experience – from location to endurance, interval, hills, steps and always new things to learn. Being in nature is truly a privilege.

See how the girls took on the Lane Cove National Park

Monday 29th February with Lis
: Lane Cove National Park

Stats: 10.8 km’s. 12,500 steps. Elevation +850m /   – 825m. Amazing how the little ups and down add up over the session – especially when you are moving quickly.

The girls  were happy  with goal of moving quickly and a loop with the target of 11kms.  Temperature was brilliant. Shade fab. Quickly got into rhythm. Changing leaders and making sure we worked hard to achieve our goal! The amount of wildlife and large lizards took the girls by surprise….what a glorious backyard we have

Thursday 3rd March with Rozzie
11km, 16,200 steps, 67 floors, 877 calories burned

IMG_0912Week 3 and lots smiling faces excited to be off on an another adventure walk.  Lane Cove National Park this week for our endurance walk where we covered 11km, 16,200 steps with a little bit of interval work on stairs and hills.

A new leader every 10 minutes gave everyone the chance to walk at their fastest pace and everyone behind them to keep up.  From the weir to De Burghs bridge walking along the river and over to the other side and back.  Beautiful bush, caves and rocky outcrops to discover, not to mention the abundance of Eastern Water dragons, adult and babies that we saw makes us realise how lucky we are to be out there exploring this beautiful bushland we have right on our door step.

FIT TREK Training took on the HEAT of the SPHINX!

Two extremely HOT sessions this week for the FIT TREK for women girls! Some great pics as they took on the Sphinx!
Monday FIT TREK with Lisa – 22nd February
Stats: 8.05 km’s. 12,500 steps. Elevation +612m  – 646m. Big ascents  / descents today and this, as well as the heat, affects distance. As I said to the girls – if we were doing a trek in Europe these are the sort of ascents we would do in a day.
Location: National Park gates, Bobbin Head Road, Turramurra
Goal: Sphinx track down, repeat Sphinx. Valley then up the Warimoo track toward St Ives. Return.
“5 minutes from the city and 1000 miles from care” – truly appreciating the great quality bush in Ku-ring-gai National park. Understanding more about the location I think the girls appreciated that we were really at their doorstep…right between Turramurra and St Ives.
Thursday FIT TREK with Rozzie – 25th February
39 degree heat = Enthusiasm for an adventure, shorts, hats, sunscreen, wet bandanas, wet towels, water sprays, gatorade, constant sipping of water and a slower pace is what it took to get us through our week 2 session.
We covered 11km of ascents and descents, low tide creek crossings and fire trails.
Our first ascent that took the girls anywhere from 12 to 16 minutes.  Rae’s mantra was “My mind is strong, my legs are strong”, turning into “My legs are strong, my mind is strong”
A message from one of the girls after – I’m tired in a good way and feeling so empowered!! Love it!!
