Why You Should Try Personal Training

If you are a regular club goer you’ve probably seen people working out with personal trainers. Maybe you’ve thought that trainers are ok for club newbies but a waste of time for seasoned exercisers like you. Well, not so fast, scheduling a workout with a personal trainer every week could be just what you need to take your training to the next level. In this article, we’ll explore 5 reasons why it makes sense to have a regular session with a PT.

Form Check
You may think you’re doing the exercises the right way, but it’s not until you get the eyes of a fitness expert trained on you that you’re really going to find out. Over time many of us develop bad habits with our technique. It could be rounding of the back during squats or bouncing the bar off the chest during the bench press. It’s not until someone points these things out to us that we are able to address them. A personal trainer will do that for you.

Motivation Boost
It doesn’t matter how dedicated we are, we all experience surges in motivation and training energy. A personal trainer’s job is to infuse you with a motivation boost to carry you through for the next few weeks. He’ll also be able to affirm that what you’ve been doing is working or, if it’s not, provide you with a gameplan to break through your training plateau.

New Ideas
After a while every training program starts to get a bit stale. And when that happens, our training enthusiasm begins to drain. A personal trainer is able to infuse new ideas, training concepts and programs to revamp a stale training program. A good trainer will be up to date with the latest fitness innovations and know how to incorporate them in a way that aligns with your training goals.

Accountability
When you have regular appointments with a personal trainer, you make yourself accountable. Let’s say you have a session with your trainer once a week. The trainer can set 7 day goals for you to work toward before your next session. Knowing that you’ve got someone who is going to check on your progress on a monthly basis can be a powerful motivation booster.

Rehabilitation
If you are coming back from an injury, you need to tread very carefully. Having the guidance of a personal trainer will be a huge help in increasing your mobility, strengthening the weakened muscles and getting back to your pre-injury condition.
